MSD Transportation Dept.

The MSD Transportation Department serves the students, parents, staff, and community by providing safe travel to schools & school events. Over 25 employees serve the MSD Transportation Dept., which delivers over 1,000 students daily to 3 elementary schools and one Jr./Sr. high school. Over 20 buses travel over 300 miles each day on town, country, and state roads during morning & afternoon routes. In addition one bus delivers high school students to vocational programs and two routes are for students in Bi-County life-skills programs. School bus service is to and from a student's home. Alternate drop-off points will be accommodated if existing routes allow them and if space is available on requested bus.

stop

Bus Stop Guidelines

  1. Be on time. Students are required to be at their designated bus stop five minutes before their regular pick-up time. For added safety, parents are requested to accompany younger children to and from their bus stop.

  2. Wait for the bus to come to a complete stop before approaching to load.

  3. Board the bus in an orderly fashion .

  4. All school behavior rules apply at group bus stops.

delay

Delay Schedules

School administrators communicate delays as soon as possible. Although the evening before school delay is preferred, weather conditions can change rapidly and morning delays are often necessary. If possible, a decision will be made by 5:30 am and notifications will follow immediately. Families will be notified through text message (contact your school to enroll), the district website, school social media sites, and the local TV/Radio stations. The bus and school schedule will reflect the delay, which is generally 2-hours.

BUS SAFETY

Bus Safety

Transportation is a privilege given to all Warren County students. Unruly behavior or repeat infraction may result in the loss of that privilege. Appropriate student conduct is critical in creating a safe environment for all students being transported. Video cameras are installed on all buses. If video is available, it will be reviewed by administration to evaluate any disciplinary issues. While other rules may apply, the most important are:

  1. Students should be seated and facing forward. Changing seats, standing, or walking the aisle while the bus is moving is dangerous and not allowed.

  2. Students will keep voices to a normal speaking level.

  3. Respectful behavior toward the driver and other students is expected at all times.

  4. To promote safety, seats will be assigned by the bus driver.

  5. Open food or drink are not allowed on school buss
